Whitnall High School 2011 Graduation ceremony.
This was the day the zombies came. The apocalypse descended upon Chicago with a merciless attack. Hopelessly defeated, the city would never be the same again.
The virtual world that we have built has become an extension to our reality. This digital space mirrors our actual physical existence. Though it is intangible, being connected to the Internet has greatly affected us. We make this possible through the extensive amounts of time we spend sharing things with others.
There is a constant flow of data that is readily available to us, but it is impossible to comprehend all of this. I came up with a way of describing the World Wide Web in a much simpler way. I will also include a couple Mashable Infographics that will give a visual to what we have accomplished.

In my eyes, the Internet is like a giant wad of bubble gum. We’ve spent a lot of time prepping it, mashing pieces together between our teeth and then smoothening it out with our tongues to get one solid glob. Next came the mental preparation, each foot positioned shoulder-width apart, both fists tensed into balls. It was go time. Slowly but surely the web bubble grew to a massive size.
And if the Internet is bubble gum, then each of its 2Billion users can be properly defined as sneakers. As soon as we landed on the sticky substance, there was no way to rid of it. Every time we take a step, we are reminded of the gum’s existence. Sneakers all around the world are being connected to both the web and to each other. We’ve walked a far distance with it, tightening our laces along the way.
Luckily, the internet has never given me lockjaw.
